How the review works.
Every product on VALONI has been through Complite's independent review. This page explains how to read a profile, what the review covers and who pays for it, so you can judge a profile before you rely on it.
Reading a profile.
1 The review statement
Each profile opens with "Independently reviewed by Complite" and the date of the initial verification. Once the product has been re-verified, the date of the last re-verification follows.
2 The label
Every key value carries one label for its basis, such as measured or certified. The label tells you what the value rests on.
3 The evidence
One click on a value shows the evidence behind it: the result, the kind of document, the issuer, the standard, the test conditions and the issue date, followed by Complite's assessment.
What each label means.
Values
A measurement on this product supports the rating, by a laboratory or by the manufacturer. The evidence shows who measured it.
A laboratory calculated the value from a measured sibling variant (e.g. under IEC 62722-2-1 Annex C). The evidence names the reference luminaire.
A valid certificate covering the product states the rating.
A pass result supports the rating where no certificate states it, from a laboratory or from the manufacturer's own testing. The evidence shows whose test it is.
A rating nothing verifies, such as the supply voltage. Common and legitimate.
The manufacturer's own word
A design fact from the manufacturer's documents, such as dimensions, weight or mounting.

An EPD verified by an independent third party.
An EPD the manufacturer has not had verified by a third party.
What the review covers, and what it doesn't.
What it checks
The evidence behind each key value: test reports, certificates, declarations and the technical file.

Whether the evidence supports conformity with each applicable EU framework.
Confidential reports, read in full. The profile says so; the reports are never published.
What it doesn't
Re-measure the luminaire. Complite examines the evidence, not the product on a bench.
Certify products or declare conformity.
Score, grade or rank products.
Judge a product it hasn't reviewed, such as a proposed substitute.
Who declares conformity.
Under EU law, conformity with product legislation is declared solely by the manufacturer. Complite does not certify products and does not declare conformity. Complite independently examines the evidence and states whether it supports the manufacturer's declaration.
A profile lists only the frameworks that apply to the product; one outside its scope is left off, not marked "not applicable". A certificate such as ENEC strengthens the evidence. Not having one is normal.

How the review stays independent.
The evidence decides
The manufacturer commissions the review, but its outcome follows the evidence alone. A product is published only when its evidence supports Verified.
The same template
Every profile shows the same things in the same way. A manufacturer chooses whether to publish, never what is shown.
Nothing promoted
VALONI ranks, features and promotes nothing. How often a profile is viewed has no effect on its review.
When a product changes.
A product is re-examined when a certificate expires, a key value changes, a variant is added, or Complite sees a reason.
Until it is re-verified, its address shows a neutral "not currently published" page. The address stays the same, so a link or QR code in your specification keeps working.
Once it is re-verified and the manufacturer publishes it again, the profile returns with the date of its last re-verification.

No. Complite examines the evidence, not the luminaire on a bench. Each value shows whose measurement or test it rests on.

No. Certification bodies test or assess products and issue certificates; Complite reads those certificates as evidence. Under EU law the manufacturer declares conformity, and Complite states whether the evidence supports it.

No. VALONI never judges a product it hasn't reviewed. It gives you a reviewed, dated basis for the product you specified.

Many test reports are confidential. Complite reads them in full and shows what they establish. The reports themselves are never published.
